Leona Lewis To Sing At Simon Cowell's Wedding?
Leona Lewis Leona shot to fame when she won The X Factor in 2006 after being mentored by the music mogul and she is signed to his record label Syco. Last week it was revealed Simon had proposed to his girlfriend, make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy and the pair are planning to wed later this year. Leona says she would love to serenade the couple when they tie the knot, but isn’t sure if the wedding rumours are accurate.
“I haven’t been able to speak to him yet, I don’t know if it is a rumour or if it is true,” she admitted on British breakfast show GMTV when asked about Simon’s engagement. “I will have to speak to him soon and find out.
“If it is true, then of course, yeah I will sing at the wedding. There is a world of singing to be done in Simon’s life.”
Rumours Simon, 50, was planning to wed were ignited after Mezhgan was spotted sporting a giant ring on her engagement finger, and they are now expected to marry before the end of the year. Simon is understood to have popped the question with a £250,000 band from upmarket jewellers Graff while the couple were enjoying a romantic meal on Valentine's Day.
Although singing is still Leona’s first love, she has revealed she is considering a career in Hollywood. The 24-year-old star is determined to shed her timid image and land a role in a blockbuster movie.
“I don’t have any plans to be in a movie, not yet, but maybe one day - you never know,” she teased. “I would love to get involved in something if it is the right kind of thing. It would be nice to do.”
