But hey, overall, it was a succesful awards ceremony with dazzling performances, laughter, tears, glamourish outfits, and the very odd-behaviours.

Emotional Lady Gaga, who was the night's biggest winner, picked up three awards for Best International Female, International Album for The Fame and International Breakthrough Act.

The 23-year-old was in tears after winning her awards and dedicated the night to fashion designer Alexander McQueen who died last week.

Dizzee Rascal was named Best British Male Solo Artist, with Jay-Z winning the International award.

Lily Allen was named Best British Female Solo Artist, while Robbie Williams received the award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

The award for Best British Group went to Kasabian, while JLS won the Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Single ('Beat Again') awards.

Ellie Goulding received the Critics' Choice award and Florence and the Machine producer Paul Epworth was named Best British Producer.

The award for Best Brits Performance of the Last 30 years went to the Spice Girls for 'Wannabe/Who Do You Think You Are?' in 1997.

Florence and the Machine won Best British Album for 'Lungs' and Oasis' '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' was named the Best Brits Album of the Last 30 Years.

Peter Kays Best One-Liners

"This lady is to fashion what Michael Jackson's doctor is to prescriptions. She's the only lady I know who gets her dresses at Ikea. It's New York's answer to Su Pollard." - Lady GaGa

"A previous Brits winner who's sold more records than The Beatles... in Kenya." - Mika

"My nanna's favourite, young Jason Zed." - Jay-Z

Oasis man Liam Gallagher accepted the gong and hailed ‘the best fans in the f***ing world’ – before throwing his award and microphone into the crowd and swaggering offstage.

As Liam walked off stage, host comedian Peter Kay insulted Liam Gallagher by calling him a 'knobhead' .

Peter Kay's Liam Gallgher 'knobhead' insult has won 50,000 (Currently 82,000) Facebook fans, naming Peter Kay "A Legend".
