Katy Perry Splashing Out On Boyfriend Brand
Katy Perry The couple began dating last September, getting engaged on New Year’s Eve. As it is the first time they have celebrated the romantic holiday together, Katy is keen to make it as special as possible.
She has decided to splash out around £500,000 on a custom-made Bentley Brooklands for Russell, and has even tricked him into thinking he won’t be getting anything on the day.
“Katy really thought about this. She’s been speaking to a specialist dealership for weeks now, and it’s all starting to come together,” a source told British newspaper The Daily Star. “Originally she was planning to buy him an Aston Martin , but changed her mind when she spotted a 007 number plate in West Hollywood. She said James Bond wannabes were naff.
“Katy thought getting a copy of legendary Who drummer Keith Moon’s purple Bentley would be perfect. Russell’s got no idea.”
Russell has also been thinking about the day, and has decided to take his fiancée for a romantic meal. He has also organised for a Mediterranean guitar player to serenade her with the Rolling Stones track Wild Horses.
Meanwhile, Russell caused outrage on Tuesday night by locking lips with actor Jason Segal on stage.
The British comedian and his Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-star shared a smooch live on stage at the Stand With Haiti benefit in Los Angeles. The charity event was held to raise money for those affected by the devastating earthquake which hit the Caribbean island last month.
Determined to shock, Russell and Jason shied away from giving each other a terse peck on the lips. They instead opted for a full-on smooch, with Russell wrapping his arms around Jason’s back and Jason cradling Russell’s face in his hands.
“Brand got a bit cheeky; he grabbed his Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-star’s booty on stage,” Us Weekly magazine reports.
Other stars to perform at the benefit included Jack Black’s band Tenacious D, The Shins and Aimee Mann.
The event was one of a series organised in an effort to raise money for the hundreds of thousands of people left homeless and without food following the natural disaster. George Clooney organised a star-studded telethon which has so far generated over $60 million. Simon Cowell has arranged for a series of artists to cover REM’s sombre ballad Everybody Hurts with all proceeds from sales going to the cause, while many artists have come together to record a new version of Michael Jackson’s We Are the World.
