Amy Winehouse Recording Hip Hop Album

By on 29/01/2010
The 26-year-old is currently working on her third record, and hasn’t released anything since 2006. She is keen to make her new music sound different to what she’s done before, and thinks branching out into big beats could be the perfect solution.

Amy has already asked rappers Nas and Mos Def to record with her, and is in the middle of finishing tracks with the legendary Snoop Dogg.

It is currently unknown when the star’s new LP will be released, although her record company is said to be keen for it to be sooner rather than later. She has been working on it for some time, although the record was sidelined while she battled to overcome her addiction to drugs over the past year.

Amy is currently living in the north London area of Barnet, where she moved after her extended stay on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia last year. She decided to move there rather than to Camden so she would not be around bad influences who might encourage her to return to her wild ways.

The singer is now adamant she is strong enough to return to Camden, which is her favourite place in London. Her record company have agreed she should look for a place there, but are being strict about the kind of property she can consider. “Management are happy she is returning to her spiritual home but they’ve insisted any property she buys doesn’t have a door directly on to the street so she isn’t photographed so much,” a source explained.
