Lady Gaga And Elton John To Perform Together
The legendary musician and flamboyant singer are said to be working on a show-stopping number for the iconic music awards, which will take place on Sunday at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.
It is unknown what the pair will sing together, or whether their performance will include Gaga’s outrageous stage antics.
“Elton John surprised audiences nine years ago when he performed at the Grammys with Eminem. This year, he's planning a similar move. Spies say he'll join Lady Gaga onstage Sunday,” the New York Post newspaper reports.
Elton has not commented on the rumours, nor has Gaga.
If they do team up they will join a string of top performers who are taking to the stage on the night. Mary J Blige and Andrea Bocelli are to sing a version of Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Waters, while Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, the Dave Matthews Band, Green Day, Pink and Taylor Swift will also sing.
Gaga is apparently in high demand at the moment – it has been claimed Simon Cowell wants her to sign as a judge on the American version of his show The X Factor. Gaga performed on the British programme last year, and Simon was blown away by her stage presence. He is adamant getting her on board would make the new series a hit, and Gaga is said to be keen to take part.
“Simon thinks Lady Gaga is great and really likes her energy,” a source said. “Conversations have been happening between Cowell’s US team and her people about what kind of role she could have on the show.”
