Annie Lennox Singer Annie Lennox is to make a bid for the UK Christmas number one this year after swapping record labels.
Lennox, 55, recently parted from Sony after 30 years and has now signed up with Island Records in what she says was a 'mutual' decision.
The singer is now committed to a 'long-term worldwide' contract with the Universal Music Group. She will release a collection of dark Christmas carols later this year.
Her manager Simon Fuller said: "Annie has always wanted to record an album of Christmas songs and to see this finally come to fruition is very special."
The new album will be called A Christmas Cornucopia and Island, one of Universal's labels, will put it out across the UK in November.
Another of Universal's labels, Decca, will be putting the album out across the US and the rest of the world.
