Mark Ronson only allows himself “the occasional touch of weed” to protect his voice.

The super producer sings on some of the tracks on his upcoming album Record Collection, and is determined to do all he can to protect his vocal chords. He has taken singing lessons, after being advised to do so by Lady Gaga, and is proud of the way he has been able to mould his voice.

Mark is best known for his 2007 LP Versions, which featured collaborations with a number of stars including Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen. Around the time the album came out he was a regular on the party scene, but has now tamed his wild ways.

“I'm not going to pretend I don't enjoy going out,” he told BlackBook magazine. “Now that I'm singing I just can't do much beyond a bit of drinking or smoking the occasional touch of weed.”

Mark appears on the cover of the publication, and underwent a drastic restyle before the picture was shot. He dyed his hair platinum blonde and allowed the process to be recorded by the magazine. The excerpt, which includes Mark having the dye applied and sitting outside with a plastic cover over his head, can be seen on video sharing website YouTube.
