Simon Cowell ‘wants Cheryl to rest’
Simon Cowell The pop star is currently in Los Angeles where she was believed to be resting since contracting malaria in June.
The star is said to be in good health now, but the illness caused the already-slim star to lose weight and doctors had advised her to take it easy before she resumed her work commitments.
The singer reportedly told Simon she would use her time in America to recuperate but the music mogul has since been disappointed to overhear that she has in fact been meeting with TV executives and working on her new album.
“Simon spoke to Cheryl before she went out to LA and she specifically told him she was going out to rest, recuperate, gain some weight and hang out in the sun away from the glare of photographers,” a source told Closer magazine.
“The last thing he expected was for her to go over to America and start working. Simon hasn’t berated her down the phone or anything, but he’s let it be known he’s not very happy. He just wants her to concentrate on getting 100 per cent better.”
Simon reportedly made it clear he didn’t want Cheryl to rush back to her duties as a judge alongside him on the panel of British music television competition The X Factor.
“Simon’s been telling people involved in X Factor that he bent over backwards to make sure she didn’t feel any pressure from them to come back to the show until she was ready. Telling her to take her time - so he’s not over the moon to hear on the grapevine she’s had a few meetings with producers and has been singing again,” added the source.
