Shania Twain to win Idol role?
Shania Twain The hit US talent show was rocked when head judge Simon Cowell quit earlier this year. New judge Ellen DeGeneres announced she was also leaving last month, meaning there are two free spaces on the judging panel for the 10th season of the series.
Several stars including Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy, Jessica Simpson and Courtney Love have been linked to the programme recently, but singer Shania is now said to be at the top of network bosses’ lists.
“They’ve been after her ever since she was a mentor on the show last season,” a friend of Shania’s told People magazine. “And they haven’t given up.”
Shania appeared on American Idol twice in the show’s ninth season, which finished earlier this year. She was a guest judge for the Chicago auditions, and mentored finalists in April.
Shania’s representative has refused to comment on the rumours, and FOX has insisted no judges have been confirmed yet.
