Gwyneth Paltrow Releases Country Song
Gwyneth Paltrow The actress has recorded Country Strong for her new movie of the same name, which will hit screens in December. The film is about up-and-coming country music star Beau Williams, portrayed by Garrett Hedlund, who becomes friends with an older singer called Kelly Canter, played by Gwyneth.
As she sings so much in the movie Gwyneth thought it would be fun to record the title track, and her efforts have been praised by critics.
“I won’t stay down long/Because I’m country strong,” she croons in the track.
Kelly is an alcoholic who is taken out of rehab by her manager and husband Ed, played by country music star Tim McGraw. Kelly then embarks on a series of shows to try to rebuild her career.
Gwyneth is married to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, and has previously revealed she asked him to help her prepare for the role of Kelly. Chris spent hours teaching her how to play guitar, something she is eternally grateful for.
“He was so helpful, so sweet and encouraging. I mean, it's embarrassing to be playing in front of your husband, especially when he's in one of the world's most successful bands,” she said.
Gwyneth previously showed off her vocal talents in 2000 movie Duets, in which she sang Cruisin’ with Huey Lewis.
