Leona Lewis has abandoned a planned tour of Australia, Asia and Europe. The Bleeding Love singer is struggling to deal with her split from childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa.

The 25-year-old, who found fame after winning the X Factor, battled to get through the UK leg of her tour after splitting with her boyfriend of 10 years.

She's decided to get back into the studio to record songs for the deluxe edition of Echo and her third album, according to the Sunday Mirror.

A source told the newspaper, "Leona's heart just wasn't in the tour towards the end of the UK leg. She was heartbroken over her split with Lou. This was the love of her life."

It is also thought that when Christina Aguilera cancelled her US tour – on which Lewis was supposed to have a supporting slot – it convinced her that it was the right thing to do.

The source added, "Christina's tour flopping caused a major problem for Leona. It meant she would have a long time to wait before she could tour the rest of the world."

X Factor boss Simon Cowell is said to have given his protégé until next summer to get her third album finished so she can perform on the US version of The X Factor.
