The 42-year-old pop princess' album is selling twice as many as the Eminem's Recovery, which currently holds the top spot.

But she is facing competition from band Feeder as well as Enrique Iglesias.

Meanwhile, British band JLS are heading for another number one single with their track The Club Is Alive.
