Universal deny telling Lady Gaga to lose weight
The record label have called recent rumours “nonsense” in comments by one of their reps.
With the recent circus about Lady Gaga and her weight, her record label have now stepped in to deny rumours that they have ordered the star to slim down following her weight gain.
Although Universal have not issued a statement, their rep did tell NME, that the talk of her being told to slim down by the label was “nonsense”.
It had been claimed earlier in the week that Gaga had been told to “quit gorging on her favourite foods” when new costumes need to be ordered for her current tour due to her putting on weight.
Gaga herself hit back at the criticisms of her change in size by posting a picture of Marilyn Monroe on her Twitter account with the caption, “To all the girls that think you’re ugly because you’re not a size 0, you’re the beautiful one. It’s society who’s ugly.”
Gaga’s weight and dieting comments have been the subject of scrutiny more than once this year. In April her comment that “pop stars don’t eat” were met with uproar from the usual eating disorder groups, while she spoke in February of how she had to overcome bulimia to save her voice.
