Simon Cowell furious at Depeche Mode’s “weirdo” Gore

Simon Cowell has slammed Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore after the guitarist joked that the X Factor boss should be shot for his destruction of the music industry.

In an interview with MusicWeek, Gore reportedly said: “I’m not advocating violence but I think somebody should shoot Simon Cowell.”

Adding: “His influence on the industry over the last God knows how many years… It’s just like, so many people think that’s what music is.

“What happened to bands getting together?”

Incensed by the comments, Cowell, 53, took to twitter to let of some steam.

Simon tweeted: “I read Martin Gore wants to shoot me. He was in Depeche Mode. Do you realise how weird and stupid that makes you? Go and watch the news.

“Why I am angry about weirdo Gore is a ton of people have got shot this year and people like weirdo Gore encourage this.”

Well said, Simon. One of the reasons I avoided the music scene for years was the sound of groups like Depeche Mode. I’m not interested in hearing people scream and screech. Simon Cowell actually has the “audacity” to require that people be able to carry a tune and produce a reasonably pleasant tone. I love his shows and his artists. Martin Gore should crawl back under his rock, and let the public decide what they want to hear. From the success of Simon, his shows and artists, I’d say they’ve voted in his favor!!!
