The Rolling Stones face fine for over-running concert
It seems The Rolling Stones could be set to loose £200,000 for running 35 minutes over their 50th anniversary concert in London’s 02 Arena.
The rockers – who started half an hour late – were due to wrap up their performance at 10.30pm but ignored local council regulations to play encores for the 20,000 cheering fans until 11.05pm.
The band’s agent Bernard Doherty told The Sun newspaper, “It means a big fine – but the guys just do their thing. There wasn’t a janitor standing there, jangling his keys, saying, ‘I want to go home’.”
The late ending broke a Sunday night curfew laid down by authorities, meaning the band now faces a hefty fine.
