Na Na Nai – Dappy handed suspended sentence
It sounds like N-Dubz rapper Dappy has got away with a simple slap on the wrist.
Dappy Contostavlos has been given a six-month jail sentence suspended for 18 months, for assault and affray over his scuffle at a petrol station.
The 25-year-old North Londoner, broke down in tears and shouted “yes” at Guilford Crown Court, reports Sky News.
The rapper – who faced 3 years in jail – believes he was “victimised” for being famous during the petrol station brawl last year.
Dappy told the jury: “I think I have been victimised. They realised it was me and just wanted to mess me up because I’m famous.”
The N-Dubz star had protested the verdict on Twitter immediately after being found guilty, claiming that he had acted in self defence.
“Not guilty For spitting at the Females but Guilty for defending my self from the 3 Males!!!! #ThisAintRight,” he wrote.
