Madonna was being “ironic” with Obama Muslim comments
The singer has explained her recent comments made at her Washington concert.
Madonna has explained that her recent comments about Barrack Obama being a “black Muslim” were meant to be ironic.
The singer, who seems to have caused more controversy on her current tour than ever before in her less-than-snow-white history, urged her fans to get behind Obama in the ongoing presidency race, saying that it is “amazing to have a black Muslim in the White House”.
Of course, with Obama’s Christian faith being very much apparent, this immediately caused outrage, but Madonna has come back with a statement via her rep, saying, “I was being ironic on stage. Yes, I know Obama is not a Muslim – though I know that plenty of people in this country think he is. And what if he were?
“The point I was making is that a good man is a good man, no matter who he prays to. I don’t care what religion Obama is – nor should anyone else in America.”
Hmm, or perhaps just trying to grab yet another headline?
