The Killers take album chart number one with Battleborn
The Las Vegas band have returned from their hiatus with a triumphant storming of the charts.
Returning rockers The Killers have taken the top spot on the album chart with their new record, Battleborn.
The US band have been on hiatus for the last few years, but have returned with their best album to date, which has been clearly proved as it beat Pink to the number one spot on the album chart this weekend.
The album sold over 94,000 copies to make it the third fastest seller of the year behind Lana Del Rey and Emeli Sande.
Battleborn beat Pink’s The Truth About Love by almost 15,000 sales, while the top three was completed by The Script who dropped one place from last week’s number 2.
The Killers have recently announced an extension to their upcoming UK tour, which was originally to have 11 dates in October and November. They will now also play two additional dates at Birmingham on the 1st November and Manchester on 14th November. The tour is still set to end with two nights at the O2 in London on November 16th and 17th.
