Johnny Depp joins Alice Cooper on stage
Johnny Depp has been showing off his guitar skills after joining Alice Cooper and the rocker’s crew on Thursday night at a show in Los Angeles.
Cooper has been an admirer of the actor’s guitar skills and offered him a regular slot in his band after Depp impressed him during an appearance at a Cooper show in London last year.
The rocker said, “Johnny came to Hollywood to play guitar. He didn’t come as an actor at all… I always say to him, ‘If you really want to go out on tour, let me know and you can come with us.’ I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.”
And Johnny took up on the offer and joined his pal on stage at the Orpheum Theater on Thursday and stuck around to play on several covers, including the Beatles’ “Revolution,” Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxy Lady,” the Who’s “My Generation” and the Doors’ “Break on Through (to the Other Side,” before tackling Cooper’s own vintage hits, including “I’m Eighteen,” “Poison,” “Under My Wheels” and, of course, “School’s Out.”
