Downey plays Peter Highman, an expectant first-time father who needs to catch a flight home for the birth. His plans go awry when he meets aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis). He forces Peter to hitch a ride with him—on what turns out to be a cross-country road trip that will ultimately destroy several cars, numerous friendships and Peter’s last nerve.
