Ryan Reynolds is set to star in a new movie about drag-racers.

The Safe House star will team up with Cowboys & Aliens director Jon Favreau.

Dan Gilroy, who co-wrote The Bourne Legacy with younger bro Tony, is on writing duties.

Battle For Bonneville is based on a true story about half-brothers Art and Walt Arfons, who teamed up to set the world land speed record three times in the 60s.

Art Arfons was the world land speed record holder three times in 1964–1965 with his Green Monster series of jet-powered cars.

New Regency is in final negotiations to acquire the film.

Battle For Bonneville is rumoured to be scheduled for a 2014 release.
