It has been a while since anything has been heard on the reboot of Mad Max, but it now seems likely that the film is going to go ahead with Tom Hardy in the title role. The real question fans wanted to know is whether Mel Gibson would have any part to play in the new film, something the star was happy to tell them directly.

Talking about the reboot Gibson said, “"Nope. I've got nothing to do with it. George, he's filming in Namibia or something. It would be fun to fly to Namibia and be a snake in the background or something. I think it's going to be great. George is a genius."

Well at least it saves months of rumours over whether he will or won’t have a cameo in the film.

The George Miller production is only in its early stages but Charlize Theron has also been added to the cast list alongside Hardy, making it one to watch for  the future.
