Steve Coogan has reunited with Armando Ianucci and Peter Baynham for the new Alan Partridge film and enjoyed meeting up with the men behind the Norwich presenter's big screen venture.

Coogan told Vanity Fair: "It's been great when Armando, Pete and I have been together. Everyone's laughing, everyone's doing Alan. Three Alans in a room - torture, really."

The comedian introduced Partridge to the world in BBC Radio spoof show On The Hour before appearing on The Day Today, his own chat show Knowing Me Knowing You and two series of I'm Alan Partridge.

Alan Partridge also starred in Mid Morning Matters, an online series of mini webisodes, with Alan doing what he does best, tackling subjects like which species of animal would you make extinct and which condiment would you take to a desert island?

Sky Atlantic picked up the rights to the series, which will be edited into new 30-minute episodes for TV.

The story behind the Partridge movie is being kept under wraps but Coogan revealed: "There's quite a large event in a small town. And Alan is not the protagonist. He's... an unwilling participant."
