Tom Hiddleston has been digging for a movie secret from one of his recent co-stars.

The War Horse actor tried to get Benedict Cumberbatch to reveal his role in Star Trek 2 but without success.

Hiddleston said: "Ben hasn't told me who he's playing in Star Trek, so he's keeping very tight-lipped. I was badgering him all day, we were doing the rounds together and he said, 'No, won't'.

But despite Cumberbatch keeping his cards close to his chest, Hiddleston said his time with the actor on War Horse was special.

"It's been amazing to be alongside him too, because we started our training for War Horse the Monday after the first episode of Sherlock ever aired on television. So I was kind of right next to him as I watched his life change.

"And after he saw Thor he said, 'My God, I can't believe you're up there in this huge superhero movie'. So there's a huge amount of mutual pride, which we all need in this game because it can be a lonely business. It's great to have friends that are doing well that you can applaud."

Star Trek 2 is set for release in the UK in 2013.
