Tim Burton up for Beetlejuice 2
Tim Burton There have been `any number of rumours about a sequel to Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice being on the horizon, and it seems that there is a chance of it actually being made.
It’s over twenty years since Michael Keaton became the ghost with the most in the zany comic horror, but the film still has a massive cult following and is one of the most iconic films of Burton’s career, and its hard not to imagine what could be done with today’s technology.
When asked if he would direct a sequel, Burton was said to say, “Yes. I love that character, and Michael Keaton is so great in it. I always think about how great and fun that character was, so I just said to [Dark Shadows writer] Seth Grahame-Smith, ‘If you have some idea about it, go for it, and then I’ll look at it freshly.’ In the past, I tried some things, but that was way back when. He seemed really excited about it. Michael was so great in it. I’m sure he’d strangely tap right back into it.”
So , it all seems good, but let’s not forget just how busy Tim Burton is right now, and then there is the question of whether Michael Keaton would be up for reprising the role. Could anyone else pull it off in the same way if not?
More information on this one when it develops.
