Seann William Scott reckons it could be “awful for my career” if he were to make yet another American Pie film.

Scott returns to play Steve Stifler for this year’s American Reunion, but, while saying that it was great fun to reprise his role in the successful comedy franchise and he is more than willing to continue with the series, he is not sure if that would be a wise career move.

The 35-year-old said: “I have never had as much fun as I had on American Reunion. I was just so happy to go back and play around with the guys that I started my career with.

“The chemistry that we all have, yeah, it was great, so much so that I would probably do another one, I had that much fun – which would probably be awful for my career – but I had a really awesome time.”

Scott pointed out that he would like to act in other “serious” films, but expects to appear in more comedy movies and follow-ups to his better-known works.

The actor spoke to movies.ie about his future, saying: “I have no idea! I haven’t read anything that I really liked, but I am not too stressed about it.

“Who knows? I would love to do something more serious, but I will probably end up doing American Pie 5 or Dude, Where’s My Car Again?”
