Jane Goldman has revealed that if a sequel did appear it would probably not be written by her or have Matthew Vaughn directing.

It’s almost a given these days that any film which has audience figures of three or more per showing will spawn a sequel, so many fans of comic book movie Kick Ass are disappointed with ltest word that a second film might not be on in the offing.

Jane Goldman, known to many as Mrs Jonathan Ross for many years, wrote the screenplay for the first film, and recently commented that she was not in any kind of talks to write another one.

Talking to MTV News while promoting her screenplay for The Woman In Black, Goldman said, “The only thing fairly sure right now is that Matthew (Vaughn) doesn’t have any plans to direct it and he and I are not talking about writing it. It may well be we oversee Kick Ass 2. I know there is somebody that Matthew has been talking to who would be interested in writing and directing it.”

So if a sequel did materialise it would likely have a whole new team behind it.
