Daniel Craig doesn't want to distance himself from Bond
Daniel Craig Following from recent rumours that Daniel Craig could be lined up to match Roger Moore’s contribution to the Bond franchise by starring in another four or five 007 adventures, Daniel Craig has himself said that he has no desire to distance himself from the series.
The actor, who plays Bond for a third time in the upcoming Skyfall, believes that if he signed up for any roles radically different between Bond outings he would be accused of trying to stop himself being typecast.
“I don’t think, ‘This will look good next to that’,” he said. “Of course I could play a role like a child killer. Whether I want to is another matter. I think it would smack slightly of ‘Oh he’s only doing it to get away from Bond. I’ve got no desire to escape the role. It’s fantastic.”
Despite his love of the role, Craig also revealed that he almost abandoned the series when MGM ran into financial difficulties that resulted in a delay with Skyfall.
