Latest rumours suggest the star won't be taking part in the planned sequel.

Despite the hopes of Ghostbusters fans everywhere, it is thought that Bill Murray has shredded the script for Ghostbusters 3 which was sent to him to consider.

The latest reports in the will he won’t he story, which has been going so long that it seems like Murray’s heart was never really in the project, suggest that the star returned the latest copy of the script to Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis shredded in a box with a note saying, “no one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts.”

This story does come courtesy of the National Enquirer, so just how much truth is in it has yet to be seen, but all in all it seems more and more likely that Ghostbusters 3 will have to go ahead without Murray’s involvement, mores the pity.
