The star has revealed that she wants to show her lighter side.

Keira Knightley is not greatly known for her comedy skills, but the actress would love the chance to ditch her period drama and dark film roles for something a bit more lighthearted.

Keira, who is best known for films like The Duchess and Pride and Prejudice as well as her role in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, has said that she really wants to show off her funny side…and it seems like she now has her chance.

She has signed up to star with Steve Carrell in Seeking a Friend for The End Of The World, which she says is a comedy but has an edgy twist.

“I did a comedy over the summer because I thought I’m going from dark to darker to darkest. I need to lighten up a bit. I told a friend I did a comedy and when she asked what it’s about I had to say the end of the world.”

She revealed, “If I could get a rom-com project I’d gladly go for it.”
