Anne Hathaway defends Catwoman costume
Anne Hathaway has wasted no time in defending her Catwoman costume after a barrage of criticism after photos were revealed a few days ago.
The publicity shot of Hathaway’s character kitted out in a tight leather-look jump suit that is more akin to the original comic books than some of the sexier looks Catwoman has been associated with in the past met a wave of disappointment from fans who were expecting something more.
Hathaway has made it clear that people should wait for the movie to come out before making a judgement.
“I was not going to admit it,” she told MTV.com. “but I asked someone to send me a few reactions and I happen to know that MTV’s reaction was ‘meh’.”
Oooh, awkward moment of the day.
“What I’m happy to say,” she went on, “is if you didn’t like the photo you only see a10th of what the suit can do. And if you did like the photo you have excellent taste.”
It does seem a little bit deja-vu, considering the same type of criticism haunted Heath Ledger’s initial placement as The Joker in The Dark Knight, and of course we all know how that one panned out.
