Taylor Swift signs to animated movie
Taylor Swift The 21-year-old country singer will voice a character in CGI-animated film Dr. Seuss' The Lorax alongside Danny De Vito, Zac Efron and Betty White, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Taylor’s tones will be used for the love interest of Zac's character in the upcoming production from Universal's Illumination Entertainment, which is based on the classic Dr. Seuss book. Zac is lending his voice to Ted, a happy young boy who on an adventure, while Taylor’s character is Audrey, the girl he’s set his sights on.
Danny De Vito is taking on the title character Lorax, while Betty White’s tones will be used for Ted's Grammy Norma.
The movie will be Taylor’s second film to date, after her appearance in last year’s romantic comedy Valentine's Day.
Coming from director Chris Renaud who previously helmed Despicable Me, The Lorax is rumoured to be set for a March 2 2012 release.
The Lorax is a warning tale which aims to teach kids about the environment. It is the story of a boy who goes to visit a being called the Once-ler in a treeless wasteland. He tells the boy he began a thriving business derived from the trees of a forest. As his business booms, the forest and its inhabitants suffer. The Once-ler explains that he ignored the warnings of a wise creature called the Lorax - who speaks for the trees against his greed.
