Julia Roberts Julia Roberts has been confirmed as the evil queen in a new Snow White movie.
A new big-screen adaptation of the fairy tale is being directed by Tarsem Singh with production set to begin in April.
The film is due to be released on June 29, 2012, which is six months before Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman is released.
Roberts is set to play the evil queen in the new film by Relativity Media, which will go against the traditional story for a modern telling and will include more comedy and adventure, according to Variety.
The heroine will team up with seven dwarves as she battles her evil stepmother to regain the kingdom that is rightfully hers.
