Beyonce Knowles tipped for Eastwood movie
Beyonce The American singer has turned her hand to acting several times in the past, with her credits including 2006’s Dreamgirls and 2009 movie Obsessed.
She has now been linked to the new version of classic tale A Star Is Born, about a young hopeful who falls in love with a star whose popularity is waning, and then helps her get a foot in the music business door.
Clint – who has won best director Oscars for 1992’s Unforgiven and 2004’s Million Dollar Baby – will apparently direct and produce the movie for Warner Bros.
“Clint Eastwood will produce (as always through Malpaso) as well as direct the script by Will Fetters along with producers Billy Gerber and Basil Iwanyk and Jon Peters (who made the infamous 3rd version of A Star Is Born with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson),” reports Deadline.
There are no details on who is being lined up to play the male lead yet, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith and Jon Hamm are rumoured to be within movie bosses sights. It is thought shooting of the musical will start this autumn.
It’s not the first time Beyoncé has been linked to the iconic role. There was speculation she was negotiating a contract for the lead role in 2008, which surfaced again the following year.
