Tourist director: Depp and Jolie had fun on set
Johnny Depp The talented German filmmaker cast the two Hollywood superstars in his latest project The Tourist, a loose remake of the French thriller Anthony Zimmer.
It is the first time the stars have acted together, and Florian says he was surprised by how much fun they had together on set.
“Johnny and Angie just got along so well, that was something I could sense straight from the first meeting that we had, the three of us,” he told MTV News.
The pair are said to have developed a special creative bond and shared many jokes on set.
“They just got along so well from the first moment they met that I knew it was going to be a lot of fun making this film. I probably have hours worth of bloopers where they were just laughing because they had so much fun inventing stuff on the fly and letting their incredible creativity run free,” he explained.
In the movie Johnny plays Frank, an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Angelina’s character Elise is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses Frank’s path.
Angelina and Johnny are two of the biggest names in Hollywood, and are also considered two of the most desirable. Florian was shocked the pair had never met prior to making The Tourist and admits he’s proud to be the one to have united them.
“Believe it or not, Angie and Johnny had never met. Through all the years that they've been king and queen of Hollywood, they had never actually physically met, so I was the first person to ever bring them together. So if nothing else, that was a really historical moment," he gushed.
