The movie franchise is being rebooted and will see Andrew Garfield take on the lead role in the film which details Spiderman's time at high school and is being directed by Marc Webb.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, they are not auditioning for the role of Mary Jane but it is not known whether they will play Gwen Stacy, one of Peter Parker's other love interests, or a completely different part.

Emma Roberts, who is currently filming Scream 4 and is the niece of actress Julia Roberts, is in the frame as is Imogen Poots, who is shooting the new Fright Night remake at the moment.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead can currently be seen playing the love interest in Scott Pilgrim vs the World.
