One of Europe's most accomplished electronica acts announces decade-spanning release.

After a chat on a mountain between friends turned into a burgeoning catalogue of post-rock tinged, sampled, synthed and time-coded music it didn't take long before people took notice. And upon the release of their inimitable debut LP, Flared, the attention was most definitely on them.

Despite the guitars shades of 90s alt-rave dance, a la Aphex Twin and Orbital, are cast over much of Port Royal's work- whether that's the debut EP, Kraken, or second album Afraid To Dance. The Italian outfit could never be accused of over-selling themselves, but they remain treasured by fans of all things epic yet understated, in the same way the likes of Cocteau Twins, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, and DNTEL are. And while the soundtrack provided is somewhat at odds with those artists, few can argue that it's comparably beautiful.

The converted and intrigued will therefore be delighted to learn that the outfit release '2000-2010: The Golden Age of Consumerism' on March 7th, through the n5MD imprint. The compendium will contain nearly three hours of music, showcasing rarities, external appearances, and remixes from the band's impressively emotional oeuvre. As anyone who's heard their rather stunning Flared Up compilation will attest to, the last package of this kind was nothing short of breathtaking, so this one promises to be something very special indeed.
