The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett doesn’t like his band being compared to Pendulum.

The mastermind of the electronic dance group – who will be supported by the ‘Propane Nightmares’ hitmakers at their upcoming gig at Milton Keynes Bowl in South-East England on July 24 – insists they are “f***ed off” that people keep making comparisons between the two acts.

He told NME magazine: “People go on about Pendulum being similar to us but they really aren’t. I think when you see us alongside each other it’s f***ing obvious that we’re totally different.

“And we’re as f***ed off with people going on about that as they are probably.”

Liam – who featured on the track ‘Immunize’ on Pendulum’s album ‘Immersion’ – explained while The Prodigy have managed to keep hold of their “rave roots”, Pendulum have left their origins behind.

He said: “It seems they’ve broken away from their drum ‘n’ bass roots, but are still clinging onto it a bit. Whereas we really kept hold of our roots in rave for quite a while, and something new has come out of it.

“We managed to keep most of our fans and just build.”
