Simon Cowell’s US failing could lead to X Factor return
With The X Factor US on uncertain ground, could the media mogul be returning to where it all started?
It seems that Simon Cowell’s brief appearance on the UK X Factor could be one of many to come if reports from the US are to be believed.
It seems that the show’s American counterpart could be up for the chop if ratings don’t drastically improve on last year, which would possibly open the door for Cowell to return to the UK show from next year.
It was reported in The Sun that Fox have not yet committed to a third season of the show despite Cowell bringing in big name stars Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as judges for the current run. The initial ratings were down on last year for the auditions, but have been steadily increasing over the last few weeks.
However, it has been said that this might not be enough to save the axe falling on Cowell, especially with rival show The Voice beating them in the ratings for NBC.
A source said, “There has been no talk so far of X Factor USA coming back.
“The UK figures have been slowly dipping since Simon and Cheryl Cole left. The new judges just don’t have chemistry.
“Until this weekend, it was obvious Simon felt he’d outgrown the UK. But with disappointing figures in America bosses feel he may come back to Britain where he’s loved and missed.”
