Robert Pattinson doesn’t understand girls, Ben Affleck’s family hated his beard
Robert Pattinson doesn’t understand girls.
The British actor – who is believed to have reconciled with Kristen Stewart following her admission she cheated on him – thinks it would be much easier to be a parent to a son rather than a daughter as males are so less complicated.
Asked if he would prefer to have a son or daughter, he said: “I think that I’d have a better understanding with a boy. Girls are hard to understand. The instruction manual that comes with them is 800 pages long and written in Chinese!
“And if you know how to read it, you realise that you’re still missing 32 more chapters that are essential and you have to improvise. Whereas with a boy, it’s easy. Sports, TV, a video game, some Coke and he’s happy.”
While Robert is thankful to have landed the role of vampire Edward Cullen in the ‘Twilight Saga’ movie series, he hates how much of his freedom he has had to give up and claims he won’t worry if he has no more film success.
He told France’s Star Club magazine: “In the end, this role helped me improve my everyday life and my lifestyle. On the other hand, I lost what I cherished the most: my freedom. Some told me that it’s the price for success. I’m sorry to disagree but I feel like it’s a price too high to pay.
“It’s strange, I felt like releasing a big ‘phew’ of relief [now filming is over] but at the same time I felt sad. For now, I know that I’m successful. Will it last? I have no idea, but if tomorrow I encounter movie failures, I won’t cry about it.”
Ben Affleck‘s family hated his beard.
The 40-year-old actor – who has children Violet, six, Seraphina, three, and seven-month-old Samuel with wife Jennifer Garner – sported facial hair for his role as CIA specialist Tony Mendez in ‘Argo’ and he admits his new look didn’t go down well at home.
He said: “My family unanimously hated the look. There was a united front and my littlest daughter said, ‘Can’t you shave your prickles. ‘ I said, ‘I have to wear this for work.’
“My daughter said, ‘What kind of work would want you to look like this?’”
Ben admitted he had mixed feelings about his beard, finding it “cool” some days but worrying he looked like Bee Gees star Barry Gibb at other moments.
He said: “Sometimes it looked cool like Kurt Russell in one those early ’80s movies, but sometimes I looked like Barry Gibb.
“The hair and the beard were no joke. There were definitely some mornings when I thought, ‘Can’t Tony just get a haircut?’
“I know my hair didn’t impress anybody. You know, you can’t cheat. You’ve got to do it right. While nobody says they thought it looked great, nobody says they didn’t think it was realistic, either.”
