President Obama praises Beyonce and Jay-Z at fundraiser
The President made a stop at the couple’s event in a busy night of fundraising and TV appearances.
It is one thing to raise a few funds and get a bit of praise from someone important, but when the fundraisers are Beyonce and Jay-Z and the praise comes from President Barack Obama himself, then it takes on a whole new meaning.
Obama had a busy night on Tuesday, attending two fundraising events and making an appearance on the David Letterman show.
When he turned up at the 40/40 Club in Manhattan the President didn’t just give his usual kind of speech but also incorporated more praise for the R&B superstar couple than many people will get in a lifetime.
Talking about his friendship with the couple he said, “Let me just begin by saying to Jay and Bey, thank you so much for your friendship. We are so grateful. Michelle and Malia and Sasha are mad at me because they are not here. That doesn’t usually happen. Usually they’re like, we’re glad you’re going–we don’t need to go. But every time they get a chance to see these two they are thrilled, partly because they are just both so generous, particularly to my kids. And Malia and Sasha just love both of them.”
