Lady Gaga sells 6 million bottles of perfume in a week
The singer’s fragrance, Fame, flew off the shelves to become the second fastest selling perfume ever.
In just a week Lady Gaga has shifted over six million bottles of her new fragrance, Fame.
The singer, who has been on a heavy promotion campaign of the new scent told her Twitter fans the news and as always thanked them for their support of her latest venture.
She posted, “The reaction to FAME has been overwhelming. 6 million bottles in 1 week makes it the 2nd fastest selling fragrance after Coco Chanel.”
The fragrance was released exclusively in the UK and Macy’s on the 22nd August, but only went global on the 1st September. By the end of the first full week of sales, the perfume had almost broken records.
Gaga originally claimed that perfume, which is the world’s first black eau de parfum, was inspired by the smell of blood and semen, and even contains some of the singer’s own blood.
