Harry Styles gone all philosophical
One Direction’s Twitter feed may have you thinking that Harry Styles is thinking of a career change, Harry’s gone all philosophical on us, tweeting about the subject.
Fear not though, he’s merely helping out a buddy.
Harry’s new mate Alain De Botton told The Metro that people like Harry could do wonders to make philosophy more popular than any academic could.
Harry rose to the challenge today, tweeting: “Socrates, born in Athens in the 5th century BCE, marks a watershed in Ancient Greek philosophy.”
Alain also suggested David Beckham could tweet about Aristotle or Plato and in doing so he believes that intellectual life in in the UK could be ‘helped immeasurably’.
De Botton reckons this approach to philosophy would have more of an impact in five minutes than the Arts Council could achieve in years.
