David Beckham plays last game for LA Galaxy, footballer get standing ovation
David Beckham has left Los Angeles Galaxy on a high.
The football star and fellow team mates beat Houston Dynamo to go on to lift the Major League Soccer (MLS) cup for the second time.
The 37-year-old was given a standing ovation from fans when he was substituted in injury time.
David, who has been rumoured to be returning to the UK, announced he was leaving the team last month, saying, “In my time here I have seen the popularity of the game grow every year. I’ve been fortunate to win trophies, but more important to me has been the fantastic reception I’ve had from fans in L.A. and across the States. Soccer’s potential has no limits in this wonderful country and I want to always be part of growing it.”
Beckham has been linked to clubs in Paris and New York City as well as England, China and Australia.
