Ben Affleck talks about wife Jennifer Garner, Taylor Swift on relationship rules and Lindsay Lohan asked father to call police after argument with mother.
Ben Affleck can find wife Jennifer Garner’s kindness “aggravating”.
The 40-year-old actor – who has children Violet, six, Seraphina, three, and seven-month-old Samuel with the actress – admires the way his spouse never bears ill will towards anyone, but admits it can be frustrating when she finds his irritations “petty and small”.
He said: “Jennifer truly is kind. She means no one any harm. She doesn’t have ill will for any person. She’s not competitive with other people. She’s not spiteful. It’s one of those things where it becomes almost aggravating at times. Every time I go, ‘F**k him!’ I see in her face that she just thinks that’s petty and small.”
Before marrying the former ‘Alias’ star, Ben was engaged to Jennifer Lopez until 2004.
Though their relationship never worked out, the pair have remained friends and the ‘Argo’ star is delighted his former lover is still doing well.
He told the Hollywood Reporter: “We don’t have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there’ll be an e-mail saying, ‘Oh, your movie looks great.’ I remember when she got ‘American Idol’. I said: ‘This was really smart. Good luck.’ I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She’s put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I’m really pleased to see her successful.”
These days, the ‘Argo’ star is constantly busy with work and finds it hard to relax and switch off as his children take up so much more of his free time.
He admitted: “There are so many decisions to be made, and it’s more than you can get to each day. There is this underlying anxiety not just about getting the movie done but getting it done really well. It keeps my head spinning – even when I am giving the kids a bath. I can be giving them a bath or feeding them, and sometimes they say, ‘Dad, pay attention!’
“Kids eat up that kind of hobby time. I used to ride motorcycles. I used to play basketball. And now basically I’m at home with them, or I work.”
Taylor Swift has no rules in her relationships.
The 22-year-old singer – who is dating Conor Kennedy and previously romanced Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayer – admits she “falls hard” in love but tries not to think too much about her feelings or she will start to find problems and “talk herself” out of going any further.
She said: “The way I look at love is you have to follow it, and fall hard, if you fall hard. You have to forget about what everyone else thinks.
“It has to be an us-against-the-world mentality. You have to make it work by prioritising it, and by falling in love really fast, without thinking too hard. If I think too hard about a relationship I’ll talk myself out of it. …I have rules for a lot of areas of my life. Love is not going to be one of them.”
Taylor insisted she would never “hook up” with guys because she loves the romance of relationships.
Asked if she ever ‘hooks up’ with guys, she told the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine: “No. Where’s the romance? Where’s the magic in that? I’m just not that girl.
“I love the ending of a movie where two people end up together. Preferably if there’s rain and an airport or running or a confession of love.”
Lindsay Lohan asked her father to call police following a row with her mother.
Officers responded to a 911 call in which the caller claimed the actress was being held against her will at Dina Lohan’s house in Long Island, New York, in the early hours of Wednesday morning (10.10.12) and now Michael Lohan has revealed he contacted emergency services at the request of his daughter.
He told website Hollyscoop: “I called the police at Lindsay’s request.
“[Lindsay] even asked that I record the conversation because she was being held against her will by the limo driver at Dina’s instruction.”
It has been claimed the row started after Lindsay and Dina left a nightclub at 4am, with insiders claiming to website TMZ that the showbiz matriarch was “wasted”.
They rowed when Dina wanted to take a limo to her home in Long Island to avoid paying for a taxi, and she won out over the objections of her daughter, whose leg was cut in the fracas.
Police made a Domestic Incident Report but no arrests were made.
However, Michael – who has four children with ex-wife Dina – insists the police report doesn’t tell the whole story, claiming his former spouse is “endangering” their elder children and taking money from them.
He added:”Dina is endangering Lindsay, Ali and Cody and it has to stop. [Dina is] using the kids as pawns and lying to get money from both of us. She just took another $40,000 from Lindsay.
“Dina and her lies must stop. I will not have this done to my kids or be lied to any more.”
