Gwyneth Paltrow claims depression was a good thing
Gwyneth Paltrow Actress, Gwyneth Paltrow is adamant the depression she went through following the death of her father and birth of her son took her through a journey that helped put her life in perspective.
The Oscar-winning actress went through an emotional upheaval in her private life - after she suffered postpartum depression once baby Moses was born in 2006 - and she admits there were days she "felt like a zombie".
Speaking to Good Housekeeping magazine last year the 'Iron Man' star revealed: "I couldn't access my heart. I couldn't access my emotions. I couldn't connect. It was terrible... I just thought it meant I was a terrible mother and a terrible person".
Though on the positive side Gwyneth noted that her depression was necessary - because it helped make her aware Hollywood was not as important as her family.
In a new interview she stated: "I didn't know really what was wrong with me... It changed me.
"It was great because it also became so clear to me what was important to me”.
