Legendary singer, Aretha Franklin and her longtime friend William “Willie” Wilkerson are set to wed, her representative confirmed yesterday, (01.01.12).

Gossip Cop reveal speaking of the engagement Aretha jokingly said: “No, I’m not pregnant.”

The couple - who got engaged over the holidays, are looking at the possibility of a summer wedding in Miami Beach - with a private party afterwards on board a yacht.

The 69-year-old singer says she is considering wedding dress from top designers, Vera Wang, Donna Karan and Valentino.

It is not the first marriage for the soul singer who has married twice before - Ted White in 1961 for eight years, then actor Glynn Turman in 1978 for six years.

Franklin has rebounded after health problems and surgery late last year - but is fighting strong and is set to wed the former firefighter - who she met more than 27 years ago while signing autographs in her hometown of Detroit, Michiga.
