It may be a sad day for gig-going White Stripe fans as Jack has announced he is prepared to give up touring.

Fellow Stripe Meg White cancelled the rest of their tour dates for 2007 over anxiety problems and Jack says he wouldn't mind if they never toured again.

When asked about getting back on the tour bus, Jack told the Daily Star: "I don't know. I guess it's up to her.

"If we didn't ever tour again it doesn't matter to me. If something doesn't happen, it was meant to be."

Instead the noisy band hope to continue making tracks without performing them on stage.

"There's so many different aspects to being creative that it doesn't matter if one component is changed."
