Pete Doherty Working On New Album

Pete Doherty has begun work on a solo album - though I'm pretty sure he started work on a solo album a while back - but whatever, word has it this one will be released next summer

The NME reports he is working with producer Jake Foir on solo material, and that Foir says three songs are completely finished. They quote him thus: "We're recording it piecemeal between two studios in London. We go in for two or three hours at a time, usually at about two in the morning, and get stuff down. It sounds slower and more intimate [than Babyshambles]. Pete's writing is more universal, rather than about personal experiences". Despite all that progress, that summer release date may not actually materialise - mainly because Parlophone would rather Doherty spend his time making and promoting Babyshambles music than working on side projects, and Foir fears they may veto the solo album's release.
