Meat Loaf's people have denied the Bat Out Of Hell legend is retiring.

It was reported that Meat Loaf was considering calling it a day when he stopped a performance of that all time classic 'Paradise By The Dashboard Light' half way through at a concert in Newcastle earlier this week, telling his audience "I can no longer continue ... I take my coat off and thank you for 30 years".  

But Meatloaf's UK promoter Andrew Miller yesterday told reporters the star was not retiring, but was suffering from exhaustion and stress. Miller: "I've spoken to his doctor, and it's clear it's just exhaustion and stress. It's not his last ever gig, that's for sure. He'll be fine. We hope that 24 hours rest will get him better".

Meat Loaf is due back on stage at a Birmingham gig tonight and Miller seemed confident he'd be fine for that.
